After a short battle, the monster is killed and the proceed into Samael's keep. There Samael explains that he will answer the pair's questions after he has dealt with Moloch, in the meantime, he sends the two to meet his associate Vulgrim in the Serpent Holes along the way War discovers and makes use of a Crossblade known as the Vorpal blade. There Strife explains that while they can't trust Vulgrim they also can't kill him, lest they are trapped in the void for all eternity.
Trap Shrine-DARKSiDERS
The pair arrive just outside the Inferno Vault and begin fighting to make their way inside, after making their way through a maze of smelting equipment the pair run into the demon guarding the vault: a Legion Boltspitter and takes his charge the Ember Core. The duo returns to Vulgrim with the item though he claims that it's only half of a whole contraption that he requires. If they use the Core to power a Scrying Eye that will give them the ability to spy on anyone anywhere in all of creation and that includes Lucifer and his co-conspirators.
In more recent years the four rode to the Dark Kingdom to deliver a message to Samael. When Fury noticed that it was too quiet and suspected it was a trap, Strife expressed his desire for some action in hoping to walk into a trap. While leaving, Strife shot one of the demon's foot as a warning for those who dare to try and attack Strife and his siblings.[2]
In the comics, Strife calmly hopes he and his siblings will walk into a trap in order to have reason to fight, suggesting that he enjoys combat. He holds people to their responsibilities, once telling War, who boasted he "single-handedly brought the Legions of Anubis to their knees", that it was his duty to, as War was the one who riled them up to begin with. Strife does not waste time when it comes to business and will make examples of people to teach a lesson to others. This is evidenced by how he silenced the demonic hordes who taunted the horsemen as they departed after having delivered a message to Samael by shooting off the foot of one of the demons who yelled "Kill the Riders!" as a warning to Samael's forces not to stop them from leaving. Another time, when the other Horsemen were sent to wrangle a defiant War, Strife then stepped in after War attacked Fury and impaled Death, who then chopped off War's arm, stopping things from escalating to a full-out battle. Ezra rejects Maul's offer, prompting an enraged Maul to tell Ezra to forget the past and his memories and attachments. He tells Ezra that their futures converge on a place with twin suns, and that they can walk that path together as friends and brothers. Ezra retorts that his friends are trapped inside the cave because of their actions, and refuses to abandon Kanan and Sabine. Maul dismisses Ezra as a "disappointment," and departs in his ship.
Many years ago, a cult of Satanists used a ritual known as "The Bride of Satan" to temporarily summon Trigon, who took the form of a man. Per the Satanists' intent, Trigon intended to take and impregnate Arella, to which she agreed upon seeing his human form. On the night of consummation, Trigon revealed his true form, to Arella's horror, and impregnated her. After, Arella fled from the cult and went on the run. She was approached by people from the inter-dimensional realm of Azarath and given a new start. There as Arella, she raised her and Trigon's daughter, Raven. Raven didn't fit in and thought if she found out more about her father, she would be able to make more sense of herself. Instead, she accidentally brought Trigon to Azarath. Trigon destroyed Azarath and killed its residents then took Raven back with him to his realm and domain, a hellish universe. He attempted to use her to open a portal to Earth so he may conquer it, Raven managed to entrap him in his crystal. Trigon desired Earth but needed a powerful conduit to open Earth to his control. Since Raven was half-human, she could serve as that conduit. Trigon underestimated Raven's magic and was trapped inside his crystal. Raven sealed the crystal within a floating structure that only she could open.
After the death of Lois Lane on Earth, Clark Kent's reaction forces Trigon out of his body and he reassumes control, and Trigon's entity (in the form of smoke) is trapped inside a sphere created by Darkseid's omega beam. While Superman fights Darkseid, Cyborg hatches a plan of transporting Darkseid and his forces into a black void, but the heroes refuse to leave Superman behind despite Darkseid needing to be distracted for it to work. Constantine and Raven hatch the idea of using Trigon, combining their magic to grant Trigon a physical form, and Trigon takes over the fight with Darkseid, ordering Superman to leave unless he wants to "get through him to get to Darkseid".
Trigon and Darkseid resume their battle, with Trigon gaining the upper hand quickly, determined to defeat Darkseid and gain his position as top in the universe. Before Raven is transported to Earth by Cyborg, Trigon thanks her for this gift and tells her to be well, and Raven says goodbye to her father. Darkseid tries to escape before he is pulled into the black void, but Trigon pulls him inside along with himself, becoming trapped there for all eternity along with Cyborg, still fused with Apokolips, and the genetic hybrids of Parademons and Doomsday Paradooms.
